Eternal Life is Not Based on Color, but on the Blood of Jesus Christ

Galatians 3:26-29 (NKJV)

Sons and Heirs

“26 For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. 27 For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.”

The eternal promise of GOD is not to be obtained according to ‘who you are’ but ‘Who is in you?’. The Kingdom of Heaven above is only ONE and it is for ALL races, as long as you accepted and submitted to the New Covenant of Blood for the Forgiveness of Sins (Matthew 26:28). It’s not what you have done for GOD, but what GOD has done through Jesus Christ for you.

Let’s learn from the Holy Scripture in Matthew 19:16-26. Jesus Christ was asked by a young rich man who had kept or obeyed the Mosaic Law from youth; “What good thing shall I do that I may have eternal life?” Jesus counseled him, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in Heaven; and come, follow Me.” But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions. Then Jesus said to His disciples, “Assuredly, I say to you that it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. And again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.” When His disciples heard it, they were greatly astonished, saying, “Who then can be saved?” But Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

The rich man fell short to gain the promise of Eternal Life because he is unable to acknowledge that he cannot obey the law or do anything good except if GOD is in him (John 15:4). This man thought he is good in himself without GOD in him. That is why Jesus asked the rich man to do something to prove if he can do it without His Spirit in him. And obviously, without Christ Spirit’s approval in him, he cannot do it. Jesus promised that if we believe and put our trust in Him (regardless of who we are), He will do anything, whatever we ask in His name that He will do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son He will do it (John 14:13-14).

Following Jesus is to let Jesus be in control of our life. We should leave our human righteousness behind because unless our righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, we will by no means enter the Kingdom of Heaven (Matthew 5:20). No man had been and will ever be righteous, for all sinned, without GOD in him. So GOD offered His righteousness to be our righteousness through Son, Christ Jesus for us to gain Eternal Life in Heaven. Romans 10:3-4 says, “ For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted to the righteousness of God. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.”

Jesus redeemed us and wants us to be filled with Himself. He sacrificed and poured His most precious blood to cover all the multitude of colors of sin, so all of us might have Eternal Life in Him. Now, if Jesus died for us, we must die to ourselves too and let Him live in ourselves. Paul said to Galatians 2:20-21, “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. I do not set aside the grace of God; for if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died in vain.”

Consider it my Christian brothers and sisters, that before the Day of Judgement comes, let us see to it now who is dwelling in us. Is it ME in me? Or is it JESUS CHRIST in me? If it still ‘ME in me', then it is wise to surrender and open our hearts to our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ to escape GOD's wrath to come. We should find Jesus at home in our hearts, seeing His love in us, His peace, patience, humility, generosity, kindness, and goodness in us. If we recognize this is the fruit of the Holy Spirit, not our fruits, we are giving glory to GOD. Then Truth is in us; that these are His works in us, not ours, and our sins are now covered with the blood of Jesus. Then the Eternal Life in Heaven is surely ours. AMEN
