Philippians 2:9-11 (NLT)
9 Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor and gave him the name above all other names,
10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
11 and every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
In this period of time, we can say that GOD is already revealing His wrath due to the wickedness of this world. But nothing to worry if we have relationship to GOD as our Father in Heaven, and we as His children through Jesus Christ our Lord, in the unity of the Holy Spirit. Let's think, if our loving parent here on earth will do everything to protect us, how much more our GOD Father in Heaven?
As children of GOD through believing and accepting His Word that became flesh (John 1:12-14), His full protection is for us, and as we are children of the Most Powerful One (1 John 3:1), who can be against us? (Romans 8:31)
But how GOD covered us His children from these weapons of the devil such as sickness and famine and calamities and so many things to mention that can harm us spiritually and physically, mentally and emotionally?
The answer is to trust in the Name of Jesus Christ, The Lord. It is in GOD’s Divine plan that everyone, whether seen and unseen, everything that exists will acknowledge the authority of Jesus Christ, as the Son of GOD, and His Divine Name as ‘The Lord’ will be proclaimed to the glory of GOD the Father. Everyone has to acknowledge His Divine Authority as the Anointed One, The Messiah. We should know and trust that the exalted Christ, is The Lord over all (Acts 10:36, Romans 10:12) and is the One who sits in the place of honor at God’s right hand (Colossians 3:1). The Name Jesus Christ is The Supreme Name; He is Lord of lords and King of kings (Revelation 17:14, 19:16).
The Name of Jesus Christ; The Lord, is the most powerful Name; meaning, it is more powerful than any name that we can name . Let us be refreshed by the story in Luke 8:26-33.
Jesus Heals a Demon-Possessed Man
"So they arrived in the region of the Gerasenes, across the lake from Galilee. As Jesus was climbing out of the boat, a man who was possessed by demons came out to meet him. For a long time he had been homeless and naked, living in the tombs outside the town. As soon as he saw Jesus, he shrieked and fell down in front of him. Then he screamed, “Why are you interfering with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? Please, I beg you, don’t torture me!” For Jesus had already commanded the evil spirit to come out of him. This spirit had often taken control of the man. Even when he was placed under guard and put in chains and shackles, he simply broke them and rushed out into the wilderness, completely under the demon’s power. Jesus demanded, “What is your name?”
“Legion,” he replied, for he was filled with many demons. The demons kept begging Jesus not to send them into the bottomless pit. There happened to be a large herd of pigs feeding on the hillside nearby, and the demons begged him to let them enter into the pigs. So Jesus gave them permission. Then the demons came out of the man and entered the pigs, and the entire herd plunged down the steep hillside into the lake and drowned."
The Sovereign LORD has the power and the authority to trample down the devil and his forces. He has been given all authority in heaven and on earth (Matthew 28:18). If Legion name is under the authority of Jesus Christ, how much more the name COVID-19 or any disease that you can name. Those weapons of devil are all under the authority of Jesus Christ. Those who believe and trust and hope in Jesus Christ Name; The Lord, will be saved from all these (Romans 10:13) . Not only that, Jesus has given us that power to drive away devil and its weapon by the power of His Name (Mark 16:17-18). Luke 10:17 and The book of Acts testifies of the numerous people who were delivered from sickness and evil spirits. And the power in His Name continues into our time because Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8).
We should take what Philippians 4:6-7 is telling us, “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.”
Why? Because Jesus is Lord of both the dead and the living (Romans 14-19). Jesus is our Mediator that speaks blessings rather than curse (Hebrews 12:24), Jesus Christ love us. He died for us and was raised to life for us, and he is sitting in the place of honor at God’s right hand, pleading for us (Romans 8:34). We have been made right in God’s sight by faith and we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us (Romans 5:1).
Jesus is the only ONE who has the Name above all names because Jesus Christ is The Lord! This name, given to Him by the Father, affirms His divinity and supreme authority. Let’s not doubt it but believe what Jesus said in John 14:14, “ Yes, ask Me for anything in My Name, and I will do it!” Amen.
